Our Story
Returning to the mosque's original role as the heart of the community.
Our Mission
More Than Just a Mosque
Masjid Al Ummah is Watford's next-generation masjid and community hub for youth and families. We are returning to the original mosque's role as a center for worship, learning, social support, and civic engagement.
Throughout Islamic history, the masjid was never just a place of prayer. It was the community's school, its town hall, its social services center, and its gathering place. The Prophet's Mosque (peace be upon him) served all these functions.
We are building a facility designed for the digital age—a place where every member, especially our youth, can worship, create, collaborate, and shape the future of our community.
Our Core Pillars
Worship
Five daily prayers, Jumu'ah, Taraweeh, and Eid in a welcoming space.
Youth Leadership
Empowering the next generation with Quran-based leadership skills.
Community Hub
A safe space for dialogue, social support, and civic engagement.
Digital & Creative
Merging tradition with innovation through digital literacy and arts.
